About PrisonPenPal4u
Connecting Inmates to Real People
Our Mission
We publish a searchable directory of inmate pen pal profiles so members of the public can write physical mail letters of friendship, mentorship, and support. Connection matters. Letters change lives — for the writer and the reader.
What We Do
- Publish inmate profiles submitted by inmates or their authorized family and friends.
- Provide a searchable directory with filters by state, gender, age, interests, and more.
- Host poetry, essays, and short stories written by incarcerated authors.
- Moderate all submissions before they become public.
What We Are Not
We are not a messaging service, a chat platform, an email relay, or a social network. Inmates do not have internet access through this site. All correspondence is by physical mail, mailed by you to the facility's address.
We are not affiliated with any correctional facility, state department of corrections, or federal agency. We do not independently verify the information submitted by users.
How It Works
- An inmate, or a friend/family member acting on their behalf, creates an account and purchases an annual listing.
- They complete the profile with the inmate's details and submit it for moderation.
- Our team reviews every submission for compliance with our content rules.
- Approved profiles become publicly searchable. Visitors can write a letter to the inmate at the address shown.
Editorial Standards
We reject profiles that include explicit sexual content, nudity, gang signs, threats, hate speech, references to illegal activity, escape discussions, or contraband. Our goal is a respectful directory that puts dignity first.
